The Acento wedding place card marks each guest's seat with their name cut out in a single piece: classic-stroke capitals with a calligraphy signature running across them from side to side. It is a table detail that ties in with the wedding stationery, and each guest takes it home as a keepsake.
Design and detail
The capitals play on the contrast between thick and thin strokes, with pronounced serifs that support the piece and give it an editorial feel. The calligraphy crosses the name on the same plane, with no stacked layers, and the gaps between the letters let the tablecloth show through. In window light, the place card casts a cut-out shadow that draws the name on the table.
