Place Cards

Place cards are small pieces that show each guest their seat at the table. Fluxenna makes handcrafted personalised place cards to order in Spain, in 24-48 hours. Each piece can be configured in 25 colours, with your choice of font and size. They are used at weddings, First Communions, Christmas dinners and corporate events.

Wedding place cards: each guest's name, made one by one

At a wedding, the place card does two jobs: it organises the seating plan and it is a personalised keepsake the guest takes home. Fluxenna makes each place card individually, with each guest's exact name, rather than using generic printed cards. This means the place card colour can match the wedding palette, and the font can match the invitations.

Orders work from a guest list: you send the list of guest names and each piece goes into production individually. There is no minimum order, so it works just as well for an intimate celebration of 20 guests as for a banquet of 200. Production is completed in 24-48 hours from confirmation of the final list. If you are planning the rest of the table, our personalised wedding decor collection has matching vases, letters and details, and our guide to original wedding place cards brings together 15 ideas that guests take home.

Types of place cards: formats and uses

Fluxenna place cards come in six formats, grouped by where they sit on the table and how they are used after the event. All of them share the same palette of 25 colours and are made with each guest's exact name.

How to choose place cards: size, placement and colour

The first criterion is where the place card will sit. On the plate or napkin, table place cards 7 to 9 cm wide work well: they are easy to read without covering the tableware. On round tables for 10 guests, with little space between settings, a glass place card frees up the table and keeps the name at eye level. On long banquet tables, the stand format can be read from any angle and does not depend on the plate.

The second criterion is the length of the names. A short name such as "Ana" looks proportionate from 5 cm; double-barrelled names or names with a surname need 12 or 15 cm to stay legible. If the list mixes very different names, it is best to set a single width for the whole table and let the lettering adapt.

The third criterion is colour. The usual approach is to take the main colour of the wedding stationery and apply it to all the place cards, or to assign one colour per table to make the seating plan easier. Neutral shades (Bone White, Desert Sand, Latte Brown) suit boho or Mediterranean-style weddings; strong shades (Dark Green, Terracotta, Navy Blue) work on white table linen and at autumn weddings.

Finally, think about afterwards. If you want the place card to stay in use, the magnetic format ends up on the fridge and the keyring in a bag; if you prefer a decorative object, the initial with name stays on a shelf.

Wooden, paper or raised personalised place cards: materials compared

People looking for place cards usually compare three options: paper or card, cut wooden pieces and raised personalised place cards. Paper cards are the cheapest option, but they are flat, fragile and hard to personalise beyond the text. Wooden place cards offer depth and presence, but colour options are limited and cutting workshops usually take more than a week.

Fluxenna's handcrafted place cards combine the advantages of both: the depth and physical presence of wood, with complete freedom of colour (25 colours), a configurable font and a production time of 24-48 hours. Each piece is also a durable object that the guest keeps, not a single-use disposable item. If you want to go further, our comparison of wooden, acrylic or raised wedding place cards looks at each material in detail.

Place cards for First Communions, Christmas and corporate events

Place cards are not just for weddings. At First Communions, the name of each child and each guest personalises the banquet tables, and the colour matches the party decorations; in personalised First Communion place cards we have gathered ideas for the table on the big day. At Christmas dinners, name place cards sort out the family seating and double as a small gift for each guest; you will find more ideas in Christmas place cards. At corporate events, they replace printed name cards with a piece that reinforces the company's image, with the option of including the logo.

    Made-to-measure personalisation with Fluxenna

Each place card is configured with four parameters: the name (or whatever text you need), the font, the colour and the size. Made-to-order production removes stock limitations: there is no need to choose between ready-made variants, because each piece is made to the exact configuration of the order. For long runs, such as weddings with many guests or company events, the full list of names goes into production at once, with the same 24-48 hour lead time. Shipping is free on orders over €60.

If you need a combination that is not available in the configurator options, email us at info@fluxenna.com: we consider special requests for colour, shape or format.

    Frequently Asked Questions

A place card is a piece that shows each guest where to sit at the table. It is placed on or in front of the plate, with the name visible. Place cards are used at weddings, communions, Christmas dinners and corporate events, and organise the seating plan without the need for extra signs.

Production is completed within 24 hours of the final guest list being confirmed. Delivery is added to that: 3-5 working days in peninsular Spain. For weddings, the order should be finalised at least two weeks before the event to be safe.

Yes. The order works from a list of names: each place card is made individually with each guest's exact name. You can keep the same colour and typeface for the whole table or vary them by guest. There is no minimum or maximum order.

There are more than 20 colour combinations available, covering common wedding, communion and Christmas palettes. The typeface is chosen from the options in each product's configurator. If you need a specific colour that is not listed, write to us and we will consider the request.

Yes. Place cards suit any celebration with assigned seating: communions, christenings, Christmas dinners and corporate events. The colour and shape are configured for the occasion, and for company events a logo can be included.

They are meant to be kept. Each place card is a rigid, durable piece, designed for the guest to take home as a memento of the celebration. It is not disposable stationery: the material keeps its shape and colour, with an estimated lifespan of more than five years.
